We understand Beautiful breasts come in all shapes and sizes not one size fits all.

Breast Augmentation, (also known as Breast Implant surgery) is a surgical breast enhancement procedure that uses breast implants.

You might be considering breast augmentation surgery because you’d like to enhance the look of your natural breasts, correct asymmetry, gain fullness or attain a breast size suitable for your body shape. You’ve likely thought about this carefully, and we’re here to provide support every step of the way.

Breast Augmentation Patient Journey

Incision Type

Our surgeons recommend the ‘Inframammary Incision’. The implant will be placed using a small 3cm to 4cm incision beneath the breast, at the point where the skin naturally folds. You’ll find the scar barely noticeable even just a few weeks after surgery, and with the correct treatment your scar will fade to near-invisible over time.

We will discuss with you the advantages and disadvantages of each incision point, based on your clothing preference, lifestyle, and the size and shape of your implant.

Implant Incision Type

Implant placement

Your breast implants will be positioned in one of two ways: under the pectoral muscle, known as sub-muscular; or over the pectoral muscle, known as sub-glandular. Both placement positions have various advantages and disadvantages.

Based on your anatomy, lifestyle and look you wish to achieve, your surgeon will discuss which placement method is appropriate for you during your consultation.

Implant Placement

Implant size

We use only premium silicone gel implants at Cosmetic Avenue. These have undergone over 30 years of medical research and clinical trials and are considered to be the best in the market. They come in a range of sizes and profiles, giving you the largest choice of breast implants.

Your weight, height, chest shape and size of your existing breasts all impact your final cup size and shape. In fact, you may find a smaller implant will actually result in a more appealing and shapely look. During your consultation, your surgeon will discuss with you the best implant for the final result you desire.

Asymmetry

You may find your natural breasts aren’t exactly the same size or shape. This is extremely common and is known as breast asymmetry. Different sized breast implants can be used to correct these asymmetries and provide a more even look.

Your surgeon will consider the final result you’re after and provide recommendations to ensure you get the look you’ve always wanted.

We work with only the finest quality silicone breast implants from Mentor which are approved under the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and come with a lifetime warranty against rapture and leakage. With numerous of different sizes and shapes ensures you will have the ultimate choice in breast implants. Because your needs are unique, we will talk to you at length about your breast and implants, the look you wish to achieve, listen to your needs, offer you advice and help you decide which breast implant is right for you in terms of your size and shape.

Implant size

Your weight, height, chest shape and size of your existing breasts all impact your final cup size and shape. In fact, you may find a smaller implant will actually result in a more appealing and shapely look.

The size of your new breasts will be affected by the diameter of the implant (determining the ‘fullness’ of your breasts) and its projection (how ‘prominent’ you’d like your breasts to appear).

Our implants can be chosen by diameter and have projection options, leading to a more tailored solution for you. Your surgeon will assist you in making the right choice.

The shape

Once you’ve decided on the look you want to achieve you can begin thinking about the shape of the implant. We offer Round and Anatomical (tear drop) breast implants. Your surgeons will help you select the breast implant size and shape that will give you the shape and contour you wish to achieve.

Round

Round breast implants are the softest currently available while at the same time perkier than the natural breast. This offers patients the opportunity to achieve beautiful round and fuller breast augmentation results while at the same time rejuvenating the feel of the breasts.

Implant Type Round

Anatomical (Teardrop)

Anatomical (Teardrop) breast implants are designed to establish the most natural looking results using silicone gel-filled breast implants. Unlike the more traditional “round” breast implants, Anatomical (Teardrop) breast implants are shaped to look like a natural breast. In fact, these implants are often referred to as “teardrop” breast implants because of their unique form. In addition, the gel material is very soft and the feel of the breast after augmentation is also quite natural.

Implant Type Teardrop

We’re here to provide you with as much information and answers throughout your experience with Cosmetic Avenue. We believe in an ethical, honest and transparent approach to cosmetic surgery. Below you’ll find a lot of answers to the questions you may have.

What is breast augmentation surgery?

Breast augmentation, also known as breast implant or breast enlargement surgery, refers to a cosmetic procedure where the breasts are enlarged or enhanced using implants placed under the breast tissue or chest muscles.

What if I want a breast lift or breast reduction?

A breast lift refers to a surgical procedure where excess skin and breast tissue is removed to lift the position of existing breasts. With a breast reduction, skin and breast tissue are removed to reduce the size and weight of large breasts.
At Cosmetic Avenue we pride ourselves in being specialists in all breast procedures, and also offer Breast Lift and Breast Reduction procedures.

What are some of the reasons women choose to get breast implants?

Breast augmentation is a personal decision and there are many reasons why a woman would choose to get breast implants. Some reasons may be to enlarge small breasts, a wish to wear a particular style of clothing, a desire for a more feminine shape, or restoring the size and shape of breasts that have changed due to pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Whatever your reason, at Cosmetic Avenue our goal is to help you feel confident and assured in your body.

Will I still be able to breastfeed with breast implants?

This can be a concern for many patients, however the placement of breast implants does not affect milk production or the glands used for breastfeeding. You can be confident you’ll still be able to breastfeed following your procedure.

How do I know if breast implants will suit me?

Everyone has different desired outcomes from their breast implants and our surgeons will discuss with you all your options and expected results.
To get the best results from your surgery, it’s important you are in good physical health and generally pretty happy with your body, and just have a desire to enhance the size or shape of your breasts.

Where will my breast implants be placed?

Your breast implants will be positioned in one of two ways: under the pectoral muscle, known as sub-muscular; or over the pectoral muscle, known as sub-glandular. Both placement positions have various advantages and disadvantages.

Based on your anatomy, lifestyle and look you wish to achieve, your surgeon will discuss which placement method is appropriate for you during your consultation.

What size breast implant can I have?

Choosing what size breast implant to get can be a very difficult decision. There are a lot of factors that go into deciding which implant is best for you and not every size will suit your body type.
Our cosmetic surgeons are experts in breast augmentation and your surgeon will consider your weight, height, chest shape and size of your existing breasts to help you select an implant that will give you the results you desire.

How safe are silicone breast implants and how long will they last?

Patient safety is our top concern and a great deal of medical research has been done on the safety of silicone breast implants, showing them to be safe and effective for use. Cosmetic Avenue have also conducted our own research and use premium, high quality silicone gel implants which are approved under the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and come with a lifetime warranty against rupture and leakage.

How safe is breast augmentation surgery?

As with any surgery, there are always some risks involved. However, the surgeons at Cosmetic Avenue are specialists in breast augmentation, having performed this procedure hundreds of times. Your surgeon will take you through all the risks during your consultation, and answer any specific questions you may have.

How do I know if I should get cosmetic surgery?

Opting to get cosmetic surgery is a personal decision and one that shouldn’t be taken lightly. While choosing the right surgeon can minimise the chance of complications, the changes to your body are usually permanent.
It’s important that you don’t rush into the decision to have surgery, or opt to have surgery as a reaction to a specific situation in your life. While cosmetic surgery can help enhance your appearance, it won’t solve underlying issues that you might be going through.
Ultimately, our focus is on ensuring you feel confident about your decision, which is why we ask plenty of questions to understand your motivations for your surgery and the results you hope to achieve. If you have any questions about whether cosmetic surgery is right for you, we encourage you to chat with your Cosmetic Consultant or your surgeon prior to surgery.
