What kinds of anaesthesia and sedatives do you offer?

You will have your own personal anaesthetist, who prior to your surgery, will consult with you and your surgeon on the best anaesthesia for your procedure.

How long does breast augmentation surgery take?

Your surgery will take one to two hours. You’ll arrive at our day surgery the morning of your procedure with plenty of time to relax and get comfortable. Following your surgery, you’ll have some time to recover and be well looked after by our nursing team before returning home or to your overnight accommodation to rest and recuperate.

How long does it take to recover from breast surgery?

Everyone’s body is different and recovery times vary between patients. However, you can expect it to take a few weeks to recover fully from your breast surgery.
You’ll be able to return home or to your overnight accommodation on the same day as your surgery. Over the next few days, you’ll experience tiredness and feel sore around the chest, as if you’ve had an intense workout. You should also avoid driving and any for the next week, and avoid strenuous exercise for at least a month afterwards.

How long will I be off work?

We suggest taking a week off work to rest and recover following your surgery, however some people find they can return to work after a few days if their job doesn’t require a lot of activity.

What follow up care will I receive as part of my treatment?

Our team are dedicated to ensuring you feel confident and supported throughout your cosmetic surgery procedure, from your initial consultation through to your check-ups. Our comprehensive aftercare is an essential part of our process and all follow up appointments

How safe is overseas breast surgery?

Recently there has been a rise in the number of overseas hospitals offering breast augmentation and other cosmetic surgery procedures at a reduced price. While the lower costs of these surgeries may make them seem more appealing than the same surgery in Australia, there are significant increased risks with these procedures.
For one, many overseas hospitals aren’t required to meet the same strict standards in health and safety that Australian regulations require, increasing your risk of serious infection. Further, you may not be able to find out the qualifications and experience of your surgeon and may not receive adequate follow-up care once you return to Australia.
You should also be aware that there may be hidden costs and unforeseen expenses associated with overseas travel – including accommodation, meals and consultations – which can add up quickly.
We recommend opting for your cosmetic surgery at home, and then heading off overseas for a relaxing, tropical holiday once you’ve recovered so you can truly enjoy it.

What can I do if I wish to talk with someone else about my procedure?

While you’re always welcome to chat with your Cosmetic Consultant and surgeon, you may also with to speak with a psychologist about the benefits and possible impact of your cosmetic procedure to help you make an informed decision.
