How is liposuction performed?

Depending on the procedure liposuction can be performed with a local anaesthetic via intravenous sedation, or with a general anaesthetics.

The procedure begins with several small incisions being made in the target area, followed by a diluted local anaesthetics to reduce bleeding. Next, a thin tube known as a cannula is inserted through the incisions to displace the fat. Finally, the cannula removes the excess fat using suction. This process is repeated until the necessary fat is removed. On average, the entire procedure will take between one to three hours.

After the procedure, we want to provide you with the best possible care, which is why your surgeon will personally monitor your recovery. Appointments will be scheduled for the following days after your procedure and multiple times during the following weeks.
